Resealable Socks
This morning I put on a new pair of Hanes socks and I noticed the the bag they came in is resealable. The packaging even brags about the 'New Resealable Bag.' The question is: Why would you have any need to reseal a bag of new socks?

That is wierd, they even advertise the resealable bag online. Maybe it is in case the socks don't fit you can return them?

Perhaps if you want to let them ferment for a while before washing...

I think I may have figured out the resealable bag thing. Have you ever been in the store and seen a bag of socks that has been ripped and then taped shut? For some reason, people seem to have the need to touch socks but not buy them.
I'm thinking the resealable bag is an effort to reduce lost inventory. The only flaw with this logic is that the seal is on the back, where you wouldn't necessarily notice it unless you read the bag. I know I ripped mine open before noticing the seal.

I suppose it might be useful to have a re-sealable bag o' socks for camping trips and the like. I always store a full change of clothes in a plastic bag in the car in case of a dire dampness disaster. This sort of thing might be handy if your whole family wore the same sorts of socks.
